A more understandable file conversion.

3MF Desk helps you see what is in a supported 3MF before you make an STL copy: its geometry, its dimensions, and its placed objects.

Built around one practical task

The converter and viewer focus on supported 3MF mesh geometry. They run in your browser and require no account. They are intended for people who need an STL copy for another application and want to understand size, object selection and information loss along the way.

This version does not generate 3D models from pictures, edit or repair meshes, process multiple input files at once, reconstruct designs from toolpaths, or certify printability.

Evidence before broad compatibility claims

We publish original fixtures, measured outputs and explicit failure cases. Slicer compatibility is scoped to the actual versions and mesh workflows tested. See the test method and compatibility matrix, and review the current limits before opening a complex project.

Open-source foundations

The conversion engine is the official lib3mf 2.5.0 WebAssembly release. Three.js renders the preview, fflate handles bounded archive processing and ZIP output, and saxes parses XML in a Worker. The website uses React, TypeScript and Vinext/Vite. The STL writer and geometry-normalization adapter are part of this website’s source.

Open-source notices and version provenance are available with the site. Our original geometry samples are released under CC0. Third-party official test inputs retain their own licenses.
